making wood strips for fixing up beehive frames: converting groove and slot frames to wedge-like using wood strips

ideal strip size
1/2" x 5/32" x 16.75"
    1/8"- 3/16"
 
1/8" =  0.125" kerf

0.125" + 0.5" =  0.625"

3.5" / 0.625" = 5.6

5 * 0.625" = 3.125"   (3/8" left over)

5(6)x 0.5"x1.5" blocks per 3.5"x1.5" board 

5/32" = 0.15615"

1/16" = 0.0625" kerf

0.15615" + 0.0625" = 0.21865"

1.5" / 0.21865" = 6.860
6 * 0.21865" = 1.3119" (0.1881" left over)

6(7)x 0.5"x5/32" strips per 0.5"x1.5" block

...so that means 30(42)x 0.5"x5/32" strips per 3.5"x1.5" board

need 2x strips per frame, and 10x frames per box, so 20x strips per box. expect to complete up to 4x boxes during session with me + 3x helpers: 80x strips. perhaps double that number if the boxes do not also need new wire(160x strips). 

...so for 80 strips i only need 3x 2x4s(2x if using off-cuts) ...potentially double that number.

What could be the reason behind all the madness? i guess we aren't supposed to know. anyway, off to work now. the place is still a junk heap, and i still haven't finished the repairs to my crawlspace, and the place is all around just a crummy situation still. basically no time to lose.
